Jacket cooling water system

In the name of Allah who is the most beneficient and merciful

This system forms closed circuit water passing from the engine returns through cooler to the p/p suction and then back to engine. A header and expansion tank is placed at a reasonable height to allow venting and pressurizing of the sys. This is connected to both the engine discharge and the pump suction line. A heater is included with a bypass and the sys can warm the engine when necessary. Cooling water at the lower end of cylinder jackets passing upto connection from the top of the jacket to the cylinder cover and then exhaust valve(if there). A restricted amount of water is taken from this discharge and passes through turbocharger cooling spaces and air separator is fitted in the return which discharge any trapped air to expansion tank. Other venting connection are taken from top of the engine system, the turbocharger and the cooler.

    The advantages of using water cooling over air cooling include water's higher specific heat capacity, density and thermal conductivity. This allows water to transmit heat over greater distances with much less volumetric flow and reduced temperature difference. The water jacket around an engine is also very effective at deadening mechanical noises, which makes the engine quieter. Thanks a lot.....
