Fuel Injector Replacement

Today we changed the fuel injector of Main Engine No.1 Cylinder unit. On our engine S60 MC-C we have two injectors located at forward and aft of cylinder. We extracted the forward injector first. Work commenced by cutting the fuel to the pump. For this purpose we turn off the following pumps.
1. Turn off Main Engine Circulating pump
2. Turn off the Main Engine Booster pump
Turn off the fuel pump intake valve by rotating the lever to 90 degree. Drain off fuel from fuel pump by rotating the drain valve slowly. The fuel will accumulate at .Engage the turning gear. Shut off the main starting air by closing main starting air valve. We tested the fuel valve opening pressure before mounting to main engine. Required tool are arranged.

Started work with name of Allah. We removed the hydraulic double walled pipe by loosen the hook nut by hook spanner then pipe nut (56MM) spanner. Remove the return pipe. Remove the fuel valve nuts evenly. Now we pulled out the injector. But the injector was sticking with cylinder head. Now we use a bar having flat screw type ends failed again. Then we used help of overhead crane but failed again. Now we decided to extract the fuel valve with help of its device. For this we cut off the jacket water inlet. Drain the water. Now we easily extracted the injector by hammering it with pause. The image of the extractor is below.

Now after changing aft fuel valve. We started the Main engine booster and circulating pump respectively. Jacket water opened in unit #01 the temperature started rises from 68 to 80 degree Celsius. Purge the air from line. Disengage the turning gear and main start air valve opened. AlhumdulilAllah work finished.
