Overhauling the Compressor Compound Valve

Allah is the most merciful and beneficent. May Allah show paved us the right way

Yesterday we overhauled the compressor. The tools that were required were 17, 19 and 13 spanner. 19 Ratchet socket, Allen key 8 and 10, Copa slip, jute and rags, hammer, flat screw driver. We first opened up the suction filter body by removing 17MM bolts. Then we removed the 24MM main bolts of head. After that by using 10 size of Allen key we remove same allen bolt size from the head. Then 08 allen bolt by Allen key. At mean time we removed the delivery branch joint by removing 19MM bolts. Also the jacket cooling pipe out line. I forgot one thing that jacket water is drain first also.
Also prior commencing this task examines the place and ascertains the risk and tools that will required.
Remove the 1st head and then the second one. Check the compound valve, if it is leaky and carbonized replaced the valve with new compound valve and open up the former compound valve latter one. Reverse the process to assemble up the head.
Now start the compressor and adjust the jacket water, purge the air ingress if it is required.
At the start of working always disconnect the electric source. Display the tag “work is in progress”.  And locked out if option is available.

I will write some more on this next time. Allah hafiz.
